Tabian center grateful for security during Muharram days

KABUL (TOLOnews): The Tabian Social and Cultural Center of Afghanistan expressed happiness about the security during the Muharram days in the country, however some Shia community elders meanwhile criticized the restrictions on their ceremonies for Ashura.
The head of the center told a press conference that the interim government provided special security measures during the Ashura ceremonies.
“All of our gatherings were held amid complete security; the government and security forces took special security measures,” said Sayed Isa Hossieni, head of the center.
The head of the center called on the interim government to pay more attention to the situation of the Shia community.
“If the Islamic Emirate wants to stay and rule and wants to remain for years in Afghanistan and introduce Afghanistan as a symbol for other countries, it should support the followers of Imam Husayn and stick by the Shia,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Emirate’s spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said that the Islamic Emirate considers solving the challenges of the citizens its responsibility.
“The Islamic Emirate is responsible for providing better security. There were some problems in some areas by some opportunist circles and some circles were trying to misuse Muharram ceremonies and create disturbances,” Mujahid said.
This comes as some of the mourners of Ashura complained of the imposition of restrictions by the Islamic Emirate on their ceremonies.
