MARDAN: After a long break of 14 years, a safari train journey was initiated in Mardan. The journey was organized by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Department, took 130 tourists on a one-day trip from Peshawar to Buddhist Remains of Takht Bhai to explore ancient sites.
Additional Assistant Commissioner Abdul Ghaffar Gandapur and officials from the Tourism Department welcomed the safari train and ensured tight security arrangements for the esteemed guests. The one-day train journey from Peshawar to Takht Bhai station will operate every Sunday, according to Saad Tariq, spokesperson for the Tourism Department.
Guests enjoyed exploring the historical landmarks of Takht Bhai during the visit. The purpose of the initiative is to revitalize train travel and promote tourism, stated Madam Hasina, Director of Tourism Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The launch of the safari train marks the beginning of a new era, said Madam Hasina. She said that the tourism tours will soon be extended to other stations as well, ensuring greater accessibility. The tourism journey was organized through collaboration between the Mardan district administration and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Authority.
