HERAT: Taliban militants executed one of the abducted civilians hours after they were kidnapped from a highway in Herat province of Afghanistan on Friday.
Herat government officials told Afghan media outlet that Taliban militants kidnapped at least five civilians from Shindand district on late Thursday afternoon.
Jilani Farhad, Provincial governor spokesman confirmed that the incident and adding that the militants have executed one of the hostages who was a school teacher.
Herat is among the relatively calm provinces in West of the country but the militants are active in some of its remote districts including Shindand.
