Taliban retake Janikhail District from Afghan forces

JANIKHAIL: Taliban gunmen took control of Janikhail district of Paktia early Tuesday morning after three days of heavy gunfire with the security forces.

Local media outlet reported that after a heavy fight between the Taliban fighters and security forces for three, the Taliban took control of the center of Janikhail district of Paktia.

However the provincial police Chief, Toryalai Abdiyani rejected the claims and adding that the clashes were continuing between the fighters and insurgents. He agreed that some check posts were in control of Taliban but most of the district was in control of police force.

Meanwhile, General Abdul Wasi Milad claimed that more than 11 Taliban fighters were killed in the fighting so far.

The Taliban activities were increased in parts of Afghanistan and they took control of several areas of the country after starting fight against the security forces.
