MOSCOW (TASS): Special-purpose nuclear submarine (NPS) “Belgorod” of project 09852 returned from its first launch to the sea for factory sea trials (ZKhI). This was reported to TASS by a source in the shipbuilding industry.

On July 24, the nuclear submarine Belgorod returned from the first exit to the White Sea at the ZKhI. The second exit to the sea is planned for the coming days, “he said.

TASS does not have an official comment from the press service of the Sevmash Production Association, where the submarine is being built.

Earlier it was reported that after the completion of the ZHI state tests of “Belgorod” will begin. At the end of 2021, the submarine should be handed over to the customer.

Also, a source close to the military department previously reported that the Belgorod nuclear submarine after the completion of state tests and transfer to the Russian Navy will serve in the Pacific Ocean.

The first carrier of nuclear underwater drones “Poseidon” – the submarine of project 09852 “Belgorod” – was launched on April 23, 2019.
