Thousands of needy families received food aid in Nangarhar

NANGARHAR (Agencies): The distribution of food items to over 3,500 needy families started in Nangarhar province, officials said Tuesday.
Local officials told Bakhtar News Agency that the aid will be distributed to these families in Achin district of Nangarhar to meet their needs for the next six months. The aid is provided by World Food Program.
The aid includes 50 kilograms of flour, four bottles of cooking oil, six kilograms of pulses, two packets of baby formula, half a packet of salt and an amount of cacao.
According to another report, 6,500 needy families in Barmal district of Paktika province also received aid.
An official of Rural Development and Rehabilitation Department of the province told Bakhtar that the aid was distributed with the financial support of WFP.
The assistance includes flour, oil, pulses, salt and baby formula.
