UAE handed over Hammad Siddiqui to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The main accused in the Baldia Town factory fire, MQM member Hammad Siddiqui was handed over to Pakistani authorities by United Arab Emirates (UAE).

In the Baldia town factory fire incident more than 259 labors were killed as the fire was erupted on September 11, 2012 and later it was disclosed that the fire was deliberately torched in the area.

During the investigation the arrested key suspect identified as Abdul Rehman alias Bholla confessed igniting the fire at the orders of Hammad Siddiqui.

He revealed that the MQM leader gave his the instruction to set fire to the factory due to non-payment of Rs 250 million extortion money.

The private news channel claimed on Friday that the Hammad Siddiqui has arrived in Pakistan and is currently in custody of intelligence agencies.

Reports added that deportation of Hammad was conducted by mutual intelligence coordination between the two countries and standard operating procedures weren’t used.

Hammad Siddiqui was arrested in Dubai in October and local authorities approached the Pakistani Consulate for his deportation.
