BADIN: As many as four more children have died in Tharparkar district of Sindh due to undernourishment in the last 24 hours.
The health department told that the deaths succumbed to malnutrition at Civil Hospital, Mithhi and adding that two children among four were newborn. The officials told that more than 33 children have lost their lives because of malnutrition during the month of November while the total number of death in the year is more than 200.
District Tharparkar of Sindh is one of underdeveloped and most of the people living below the poverty line in the area and also the uneven distribution of food hit this area every two or three years. As per the reports their diet did not fulfill the nutritional value as most of the people are living on vegetables like onions and chilies with flatbread.
Consequently, the women especially pregnant women give birth to children before time, who are underweight as well and the children are the most affected because of this situation. The doctors said that these children are either born with diseases or get hit by them.
