Union councils secretaries protest

Hafiz Muhammad Aziz-ur-Rehman

HAFIZABAD: The Secretaries on Union Councils of the district today took out a rally and staged sit-in demonstration in front of the office of Local Government to press for the acceptance of their demands.

Led by Farhan Amjad Tarar President of District Secretaries Association, the protesters raised slogans against the apathetic attitude of the department for not upgrading their scales and awarding service structures, which were their basic rights.

They said that the employees of other departments were given service structure and their scales have been upgraded but we have been neglected. They further said that the salaries of employees of other departments are being disbursed through the accounts office but their salaries were sent through the Chairman Union Council which created multiple problems to them. They demanded payment of their salaries through District Accounts Office, upgrade their scales and provide service structure without further delay.
