US special envoy discusses Afghanistan with Indian officials

NEW DELHI ( Amu TV): US Special Representative Thomas West reported on Friday that he held discussions with Indian officials regarding “the way ahead in Afghanistan”.

“Great to return to India and connect with close colleagues about the way ahead in Afghanistan. Spent valuable time with His Excellency Foreign Secretary Kwatra and Joint Secretary JP Singh,” West shared on X.

West praised India for its ongoing contribution of vital humanitarian aid and medicines to the Afghan people and outlined the discussions about the needs for 2024. “Also exchanged views on the development of a unified diplomatic approach in support of collective interests,” he added.

The announcement of West’s visit to India and the United Arab Emirates came on March 19, highlighting the trip’s aim to foster collaborative efforts in support of the Afghan population.
