Waziri appointed as deputy spokesperson of president

KABUL: The officials in Office of the President, ARG Palace, are saying Durani Waziri has been appointed as the deputy spokesperson of President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.

Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Communications and Media in the Office of the President, Haroon Chakhansuri, confirmed the appointment of Durani Waziri.

Chakhansuri further added that Ms. Waziri assumed office as the deputy presidential spokesperson after she was introduced for the post.

He said Ms. Waziri has graduated from Kabul University by completing her education in religious studies and obtaining a Bacherlor’s degree.

According to Chakhansuri, Ms. Durani has also completed her studies in the fields of good governance and rule of law in the University of Ohaio in United States.

He said Ms. Durani obtained her Masters degree after completing her education in Ohaio University in 2013.

She has also served in high level government posts including as advisor to the ministry of justice, Attorney General’s Office, and the Independent High Office of oversight and Anti-Corruption.

According to the Office of the President, Ms. Durani was the first Afghan woman to obtain a membership of the Attorney Association of Afghanistan.

She has served as a member of Attorney Association of Afghanistan from 2000 to 2011, the officials said.
