Will reject Raja Zafar-ul-Haq’s report if it is not based on facts: TLYR leader

LAHORE (NNI): Tehreek-e-Labaik Ya Rasool Allah leader Pir Afzal Qadri said on Wednesday that only after viewing Raja Zafar-ul-Haq’s report will the party decide whether to accept it or reject it.

Speaking to a private television channel, Pir Afzal Qadri said that the government had provided assurances during negotiations that two members of TLYR would be part of the Nisab Committee.

“They said that our representatives as well as two members of TLYR will be part of the Nisab Committee,” he said. “I don’t think the government will back out of their commitment since they know now that we can go to Jati Umra as well,” he added.

Afzal Qadri said that a notification from the government confirming the appointment of the members to the Nisab Committee would be issued tomorrow.

In response to a question asked, Pir Afzal Qadri said that his party had no affiliation with the dharna protest that was being carried out in Lahore against the government.

Regarding Raja Zafar-ul-Haq’s report, Qadri said that the party would accept it if it is based on facts. “We will not accept the report by Raja Zafar-ul-Haq if it’s not based on facts,” he said.

One of the main points of the agreement reached between the government and protestors was that the inquiry report of Raja Zafar-ul-Haq be made public within a timeframe of 30 days and those held responsible would be punished.
