World should acknowledge Pakistan sacrifices: Jhagra

PESHAWAR:  Governor  Khyber Pakthunkhwa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has said that people of Pakistan have given immense sacrifices in the fight against militancy and international community should acknowledge the role of Pakistan in this respect.

“Peace has been restored in the country because of operation zarb-e-azb and the environment is quite feasible for foreign investment as well,”, he said while talking to  the visiting delegation of France media that called on him here on Tuesday.

The delegation was comprised of Mr. Jacques Follorou, Chief Editor of Journal Le Monde, Mr. Emmanuel of Derville, Mr. Le Figaro, Correspondent in New Delhi, MS Kararen Lajon, of Le Journal du Dimanche, Mr. Joris Fioriti, Correspondent of Agency France Press and Mr. Michel Scott, Senior International Correspondent of French TV Channel.  The delegation remained with the Governor for some time and discussed mutual interest.

Welcoming the members of the delegation, the Governor said that Pakistan and France have strong friendly relations. While referring to implementation of FATA reforms the Governor stated that our government has already taken the initiatives to implement them.

This, he added, is a continuous process wherein legal reforms are being given due priority to bring constructive change in the affairs of FATA in consultation with all stakeholders,” He further said that merger of FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is in the best interest of the people of FATA, which will bring FATA at par with other developed areas of the country.
