WUS syndicate okays Rs347 million budget

SWABI: The Syndicate of Women University Swabi (WUS) has sanctioned on Wednesday a deficit free budget of Rs 347 million for the year 2017-2018, officials of the university told The Frontier Post.

The Syndicate budget meeting was chaired by Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Khanzadi Fatima Khattak and it was attended by Adviser (Research and development) Higher Education Commission, Dr. Muhammad Latif; Honorable Justice (R), Said Maroof Khan; Additional. Secretary, Establishment Department, Peshawar, Ali Qadir Safi, deputy  Secretary Higher Education Department, Asad Jan; deputy Secretary, Finance Department, Khurshed Alam, Principal, Maneri Degree College Swabi, Ms.

Humaira Kamal; Principal, Panjpir Degree College Swabi, Ms. Safia Begum; Additional Registrar, Dr. Gulnaz Parveen and Mr. Syed Masoom Shah, In-charge Finance Section.

The syndicate approved the recommendations of various forums of the University like Academic Council, Affiliation Committee and Finance and Planning Committee.

Participants said that without female education it might be difficult for the government to achieve the desired and outlined objectives in diverse fields and the establishment of the women university in the district was good omen for the girls, especially those belong to district and its periphery regions.

The Vice-Chancellor said that the academia of the university is committed to empower females through quality higher education, and involve them in the result-oriented research and innovations.

She said that university will take all possible steps to provide state of the art facilities to its all students and scholars to conduct their research in the peaceful and working environment according to the expectations of the academia.

Later, the members visited the construction site of Women University Swabi at Kotha and appreciated the speedy construction of the campus.
