51 arrested for poor cleanliness conditions

PESHAWAR: District administration arrested 51 persons including the manager of a restaurant for profiteering and poor cleanliness conditions during a crackdown carried out in different areas of the district Wednesday.

The arrested persons were included fresh milk sellers, cooked tea sellers, proprietors of restaurants, grocers and fruit & vegetable sellers. On the directives of Deputy Commissioner (DC), two teams of the administration headed by Additional Assistant Commissioners (AACs), Fazalur Rahim and Salahuddin carried out checking of restaurants and shops on G.T. Road and Warsak Road and arrested 51 persons. AAC Fazalur Rehim carried out checking on restaurants and shopkeepers on G.T. Road and Hashtnagri areas and arrested 28 persons the manger of Haleem Ghar for alleged filthy nails and cooking tikas on road. Similarly, AAC, Salahuddin conducted raids on different shops on Warsak Road and arrested 23 shopkeepers for erecting encroachments, violation of price list and poor cleanliness conditions.
