Accountability court orders SECP to freeze assets of Hussain, Hasan Nawaz

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: The accountability court on Tuesday ordered the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) to freeze all the assets of Hasan and Hussain Nawaz, the sons of disqualified premier Nawaz Sharif in the corruption reference filed against them.

The corruption case against the brothers has been separated from the other family members as they were continuously absent from the hearing. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) submitted a detailed report of assets owned by Nawaz’s sons in Pakistan.

NAB informed the court that as per the SECP records Hasan and Hussain Nawaz own share in six different companies working in Pakistan.

The court then directed the SECP to freeze their shares and ordered both accused to appear in court by November 8 and if they fails to show up in the court the they will be declared proclaimed offenders.

The hearing was then adjourned until November 14.
