KABUL (BNA) The country’s Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, held a productive meeting with a delegation from the Malaysian government, signaling the deepening relationship between the two nations.
The meeting, which took place during the delegation’s visit to Kabul, emphasized Afghanistan’s expanding global relations and its positive rapport with neighboring and regional countries.
Led by Mrs. Shazlina, the representative of the Prime Minister of Malaysia, the delegation conveyed a message from Datuk Seri Hishammuddin bin Hajji Hassan, the Malaysian Foreign Minister, to the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate.
This message highlighted Malaysia’s goodwill and humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan, particularly in the aftermath of the recent earthquake in Herat.
Expressing gratitude for Malaysia’s support, Mawlavi Muttaqi acknowledged the growing diplomatic, religious, cultural, and economic ties between the two nations. He emphasized Afghanistan’s balanced foreign policy and its commitment to strengthening relations with Southeast Asian nations, in addition to fostering closer ties with neighboring countries and the wider region.
During the meeting, the Afghan Minister also called upon the Malaysian government to provide healthcare and educational facilities for the Afghan community residing in Malaysia, which currently consists of around three thousand individuals. In response, members of the Malaysian government delegation expressed their country’s keenness to expand relations with Afghanistan across various sectors.
To end Mrs. Dato Doctor Shazlina, representing the Malaysian Prime Minister, portrayed the political situation in Afghanistan positively and expressed hope for an upcoming visit by a Malaysian trade delegation to explore further economic opportunities.
