Afghanistan Embassy issues an ‘internal matter’, India says

KABUL (Khaama press): Arindam Baghchi, the spokesperson for India’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that the current issues involving the Afghanistan Embassy in New Delhi are an internal matter from India’s point of view.

He said that India hopes the Afghan authorities can resolve the current issue with the Embassy.

“From our perspective, this is an internal matter of the Afghan Embassy, and we hope they would resolve it internally,” Bagchi said.

Farid Mamondzai, the ambassador for the previous Afghan government, continued to serve as the diplomatic envoy. But, the current de facto regime in Kabul recently appointed a new ambassador, which has faced opposition from the Embassy’s diplomats and employees.

Media reports say that Qadir Shah had been appointed the head of the Embassy in New Delhi by the Taliban government.

Qadir Shah served as the National Security Council’s spokesperson in the previous government of Afghanistan.
