KHOST: A bomb blast killed at least four persons and wounded 13 others, most of them civilians in southeastern Paktika province Sunday morning, police and health officials said Sunday.

An explosive rigged motorcycle detonated in the bazaar of Yahyakhil district at approximately 10:00 a.m. (local time), killing a cop and a child and wounding nine civilians, said Shah Muhammad Areen, spokesman of Paktika police.

Dr. Wali Gul, director of Paktika public health department, however, told Afghan Islamic Press (AIP) that four bodies and 13 injured were brought to hospital.

Among the dead was a cop and three civilians, he said without disclosing if there was any security man among the injured or not.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast.
