LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif ordered to release all of the 170 arrested protesters during the sit-ins in the last few days.
As per details, the religious groups staged a sit-in at Faizabad for 21 days and when administration started crackdown against it the protest and sit-ins were started in all over Pakistan. Punjab police also arrested dozens of protestors but after the resignation of Federal Law Minister Zahid Hamid and an agreement between the government and protestors, they ended the protest.
Now CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif ordered the authorities to release the arrested 170 prisoners in Kot Lakhpat prison in Lahore after the agreement between the government and protestors.
The demonstrations and sit-ins held in Sindh, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after the Faizabad operation resulted in at least one death and left dozens injured, besides over 200 injuries reported in Islamabad.
