Criminal involved in DI Khan incident will not be spare: MumtazTarar

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Human Rights, Mumtaz Tarar has said that the people involved in parading a girl naked in Dera Islmail Khan (DI Khan) would not be spared and strict action would be taken against them as per the law.

This he said while talking to media and responding to Calling Attention Notice regarding cases of human rights abuse, especially against women during recent weeks in the country. Tarar added that the federal government immediately reacted to the incident soon after its happening.

After the incident a senior government official reached in the area and registered FIR under non-bailable offence and assisted the victims to record their statement before the magistrate, he added.

Tarar informed that the case was registered against nine persons and also recorded confessional statements by the three accused and adding that one accused in the incident is still absconding and police are trying hard to arrest him.
