Monitoring Desk

KABUL: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Afghanistan, Dr Abdullah Abdullah has rejected the statement of his Deputy Muhammad Muhaqiq in which he appreciated the role of Afghan people in fighting against IS or Daesh in Iraq and Syria.

This he said while addressing to the council of ministers on Monday. He said that remarks of Muhaqiq did not represent the stance of government and it was purely his own statement.

CEO added that Afghanistan is not in favor of engaging in other countries fight in any part of the world and adding that Afghan government only endorsed the self defense and this should be the only responsibility of Afghan people.

Earlier, deputy executive officer Muhammad Mohaqiq while addressing a ceremony in Iran lauded the fighting of Afghan nationals in Syria in support of Basharul Asad. It is believed that the group of these fighters is organized and supported by Iran. Mohaqiq thanked all those people who take part in the fight against Daesh.
