EIB recovers 30 kg ice drug, 8kg heroin in Khyber district

PESHAWAR (APP): Advisor to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control, Khaleeq-ur-Rehman has said that Excise Intelligence Bureau has recovered 30 kilogram of drug ice and 8 kilogram heroin during a major operation in district Khyber.
In a statement issued here on Sunday, he said that the provincial government is determined for cleansing of the society from the curse of narcotics.
He has appreciated the performance of the Secretary Excise, Director General Excise and Director Narcotics Control and announced commendation certificates for the concerned authorities of the EIB.
The huge quantity of ice drug and heroin was recovered in a joint raid of EIB, Excise Officer, district Khyber and Excise Police Station on a house in district Khyber. The raid was conducted on a tip recording the presence of a cache of ice drug and heroin in a dilapidated house in Khyber.
During a search of the fortress-like house, four sacks were recovered and after checking 30 kilogram ice drugs and 8 kilogram heroin were found in them.
A case has been registered with Police Station Excise Peshawar Region and further investigations were in progress.
