Fog disrupts flight schedule at Lahore Airport

LAHORE: The flight schedule at Allama Iqbal International Airport (AIIA) on Sunday remained affected due to poor visibility and heavy fog in the adjoining areas of the airport.

At least 13 domestic and international flights were cancelled and 15 others were delayed due to the closer of the airport four hours for landing and taking-off of planes. Visibility on the runway was just 50 meters.

Due to heavy fog around the Allama Iqbal International Airport, the runway was temporarily closed for landing and take-off for about four hours.

According to the airport flight inquiry, 13 flights were cancelled while more than 15 were delayed. Muscat to Lahore bound flight WY- 341 and Lahore to Muscat bound flight PK- 342 were cancelled. Lahore to Karachi bound flight ER-521, Karachi to Lahore bound Serene Air Flight ER-522, Dubai to Lahore bound flight PK-204, Karachi to Lahore PIA Flight PK-306 and Lahore to Quetta bound PIA flight PK- 322 were cancelled. Flight PK-303 from Lahore to Karachi departed 6 hours and 20 minutes late while PK-305 departed 6 hours and 15 minutes late.
