If necessary, Suicide brigade from Afghanistan to support Gaza: Iran’s Envoy

KABUL (Khaama Press): Iran’s representative for Afghanistan suggests that if necessary, “more than one division of martyrdom forces” will go from Afghanistan to support Gaza. Hassan Kazemi Qumi told the state-owned network Ofoq that Afghanistan is geographically distant from Gaza but is part of the “axis of resistance.”
The Islamic Republic of Iran refers to groups under its support and other factions fighting against the Western coalition and Israel in the region as the “axis of resistance.”
Mr. Qumi, speaking on the program “Toward Palestine” on the state-owned Ofoq network, responded to whether he talks about the “people of Afghanistan” or “Afghanistan under Taliban rule” by stating that Afghanistan has fought against “occupiers” for forty years, and “no one can claim that [this war] is specific to one ethnicity or group.” Since the Taliban assumed control of Afghanistan, Iran has maintained positive relations with the group, offering support against foreign forces, according to reports. Despite the change in government, Iran continues to foster strong ties with the Taliban, indicating ongoing cooperation between the two entities. As of now, the Taliban has not issued any official comments regarding the remarks made by the Iranian representative.
The Islamic Republic is a major supporter of Hamas and other Palestinian groups fighting against Israel, but the Taliban regime has only limited its support for Gaza by issuing statements against “Israeli crimes” and holding relatively small rallies in support of the Gaza people.
