SWABI: Amir Muqam, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) said here on Monday that the ruling party and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) should sit across the table and decide the fate of caretaker Prime Minister as soon as possible.
Talking to media at the residence of MPA Shiraz Khan, he said that the election 2018 has rapidly approaching and the issue of the caretaker Prime Minister must be sorted out by the two major political parties. He said that according to the country constitution, the ruling party and the party who has the opposition leader in the national assembly should strike consensus about the caretaker Prime Minister before announcement of date for the upcoming election by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
In reply to a question, Mr Muqam said that if leaders of the two major political parties failed then the situation might be exploited by another party. However, he did not mention the name of party. About the upcoming election, he said that PML-N leaders have decided that they would not enter in any electoral alliance with any political party at the national level. However, in the same breath he said that adjustment with different political parties at the district level was possible.
“We could enter in seat adjustment with other political parties at the district level but electoral alliance with other parties is not possible,” he remarked. Answering a question, he said that they were ready for the election and everybody knew about the contributions made by the PML-N leaders; just take the example of power outage when the league assumed power and now what was the situation.
About Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), he said that the recent senate election had made clear that the PTI Chairman and his clique stand where and what kind of policy they had adopted and what were the expectations from them. We just want to ask a question where Imran has been stand after the senate election, he said, adding that this should be made public that how he entered behind the curtain in an alliance with PPP.
