10,000 acres grabbed land recovered, 95 rebels arrested: Governor

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Governor of Kabul province has pledged to implement the law equally on all for the sake of public safety and their peaceful living, according to a statement on Saturday.

Addressing reporters here at Government Information and Media Center (GIMC) Governor Mohammad Yaqub Haidari said around 35,000 acres of land has been prevented from usurpation while 10,000 of state land had been recovered in close coordination with security, justice and judicial institutions.

“Since the beginning of this year, 37 Taliban, 38 ISIS fighters and 20 Haqqani Network members who were planning to carry out suicide attacks in Kabul were arrested.” He said.

Haidari stressed over greater coordination between the concerned governments institutions to meet the challenges.

He added that Kabul police released five abducted individuals in past three days and arrested eight kidnappers.

Haidari also said that Kabul police arrested 2,390 suspects during the current year and prevented 60 security incidents in Kabul.

Kabul governor pointed to the scrutiny of 50,000 complaints and 4,000 property cases by the local Kabul administration as part of the achievements, saying they have prevented from construction of 1654 illegal buildings in coordination with the Kabul municipality.

He further said that along with security, justice and judicial institutions we are determined to implement the law equally so that people feel that they are living in safe environment.
