665 confirmed coronavirus cases in Afghanistan

KABUL (TOLO News): The Health Ministry spokesman, Wahidullah Mayar, at a press conference on Monday said that 58 new COVID-19 cases have been registered in the country in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 665.

The 58 new cases were registered in Kandahar (28), Kabul (13), Helmand (7), Nimruz (6), Takhar (3) and Kunduz (1), according to the Health Ministry.

The total cases in Herat is now 280.

Kandahar health officials said that with the 28 new positive coronavirus cases the total in the province rose to 75.

With the seven new cases reported in Helmand, the total in the province is now 9, local officials said.

The number of victims of COVID-19 disease globally has reached more than 114,269, and nearly 1.8 million more have been infected with the virus, according to Johns Hopkins University.

The virus has spread to 185 countries around the world.
