Pakistan needs to revive Kashmir issue at International forums: Abdul Basit

ISLAMABAD: Former Ambassador to India, Abdul Basit has said Pakistan needs to be in diplomacy and revive the Kashmir issue and try on International level as Indian was able to convinced the world after the 9/11 incident that in Kashmir the struggle is not for freedom it is terrorism.

Former Ambassador said this while addressing to a seminar titled “Indian Design to Change Demography of Kashmir- Violation in International Law” which was organized by All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) and Kashmir Institute of International Relations (KIIR).

He added that Indian wanted to start dialogue process with the Pakistan but without the issue of Kashmir as did not wants to talk on Kashmir. Pakistan need to made productive approach to highlight the Indian atrocities in Indian Occupied Kashmir and raise issue of freedom fighters in the occupied Kashmir.

Pakistan needs to speed up the diplomacy on Kashmir issue as it was the major problem and issue in the region and it the main hurdle in maintaining the peace in the area, Basit added.
