Muttaqi and Turkmen envoy commit to speeding up TAPI project

KABUL (Ariana News): The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amir Khan Muttaqi, met with the Turkmen ambassador to Afghanistan, Hoja Ovezov, to discuss the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas line project.

According to the ministry, both parties agreed to strengthen bilateral relations and advance this crucial regional energy initiative.

Regarding the TAPI project, Amir Khan Muttaqi and Ovezov discussed extending the pipeline within Afghan territory, enhancing the capacity of the Torghundi station, and advancing the work on the Nooruljihad power substation in Herat.

In his remarks, Muttaqi said the Islamic Emirate would work diligently to resolve the remaining issues concerning the TAPI project within Afghanistan and commence practical work on the pipeline initiative.

Further emphasizing their commitment, Muttaqi said that the relevant Afghan authorities are finalizing all legal documents related to the TAPI project to facilitate the commencement of work.

In conclusion, Muttaqi noted that Afghan authorities are working on constructing the infrastructure related to the railway at Torghundi port and will inform the Turkmen side on developments in the near future.
