Afghanistan claims self-reliance in 131 domestic industries

KABUL (BNA): Afghanistan has achieved self-sufficiency in 131 production sectors, according to Deputy Spokesman for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mullah Hamdullah Fitrat.

Speaking during a visit to the National Saffron Exhibition in Herat, Fitrat said the Islamic Emirate remains committed to boosting local production and supporting Afghan products in both domestic and international markets.

“Afghanistan is not just a consumer country; we have reached self-sufficiency in numerous production fields,” he stated.

Herat’s Director of Information and Culture, Mawlawi Ahmadullah Muttaqi, added that the country now offers full security for investment and backs initiatives that promote a culture of production and strengthen domestic industries.

Mohammad Yunus Qazizada, head of the Herat Chamber of Commerce and Investment, said the exhibition, aimed at supporting local products, features 100 booths showcasing various Afghan goods.

According to organizers, traders from neighboring countries also participated in the exhibition, alongside local manufacturers.
