KABUL (Pajhwok): The Minister of Public Health, Maulvi Noor Jalal Jalali, met with Kazakhstan’s Ambassador in Kabul to discuss enhancing healthcare workers’ skills, improving services in remote areas, supplying medical equipment and controlling communicable diseases.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), Maulvi Jalali met with Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Afghanistan, Gaziz Akbasov here.
The meeting focused on enhancing the skills of healthcare personnel, improving health service delivery in remote districts, providing medical equipment to hospitals, sharing experiences in communicable disease control and promoting bilateral cooperation in the health sector.
Jalali said, “Given the high demand for health services in the country, we have launched initiatives to build general hospitals in 318 districts to prevent maternal and child mortality and provide all citizens with equitable, high-quality healthcare.”
He also requested Kazakhstan’s support in supplying medical equipment for newly established health centers and suggested that Kazakhstan could contribute through investment or cooperation in building standard hospitals in northern provinces, increasing access to healthcare services for the population.
The Kazakh ambassador added that he would work to provide training opportunities for Afghan healthcare workers in various fields and ensure ongoing collaboration in the health sector.
