To commemorate all the sufferings and sacrifices made by the people of Kashmir since 1950s, Kashmir solidarity day is observed on 5th  of February since 1990. Kashmir solidarity day is more germane to the present situation than it has ever been. Times have evolved the world and Kashmir lays in the wake of tribulation. Irrespective of the affliction exacted on Kashmir by India, Pakistan’s diplomatic viewpoint is justified before the law. 5th February 2020 amounts to the solidarity of Pakistanis with people of Kashmir, especially those confined in India occupied Kashmir.

On the 5th of August, 2019 the Modi Government disclosed their Frenzied agenda for the Kashmiris by the BJP Government, Kashmir was stripped of its authority and special status. Shuddering at the idea of internal and external reverberations, India government decided to lockdown IOK, rendering it comatose  for the world.

Telephone and internet were cut and basic human rights were suspended for the re-establishment of Jammu and Kashmir. Srinagar become a detention center. In a nutshell, Kashmir became a penitentiary and inhuman torment continues till date. Killings, rape and abductions are being reported by international media. Nearly One Million  troops have been deployed to pillage the populace.

In this anarchy, the Pakistani public along with their Prime Minister have amplified the silent screams of the Kashmiris. the time calls of selflessness to alert the world about the violence inflicted upon the vulnerable people of Kashmir. Aiding Pakistan’s noble resolve, India has bared itself with anti-Islam sentiments and Hindutva. India and Indian Supreme Court, claimed to be secular, has blurry verdicts of over 140 petitions to review the status of Kashmir and has given verdicts such as the construction of temples over the Babri Masjid ruins. Furthermore, the targeting of Muslims by the recently introduced citizens Act aims to deny Muslims nationality even if they relocated to India 50 years ago. Muslims across India are out on the streets to fight despotism and fight for their rights.

The UN and the rest of the world have viewed the evident difference between Pakistan and Indian occupied Kashmir, and it will be clearer on Kashmir solidarity day. PM, Imran Khan, being an advocate of Kashmiri people, has been pivotal in the display of the plight of Kashmiris on the world Forum.

Especially, his speech in UNGA was acclaimed across the globe. International media is also providing coverage upon the Kashmir issue, emphasizing on human rights the most. According to Xi Jingping of China and US Senate, Kashmiris deserve just treatment. Imran Khan has repeatedly made peace offerings to the Indian government but they are always met with indifference.

Pakistan is functioning on Islamic values of brotherhood, self-determination and mutual respect but India is still suspended in an atmosphere of extremism that was not idealized by their leaders, Especially not Jawaharlal Nehru.

Conclusively, Kashmir solidarity day holds significance for state and non-state actors to come in unison to voice the oppressed people of Kashmir’s plight to the world and make a case for the resolution of Indian atrocities. And although the international community and the UN has been unsuccessful to act for the people of Kashmir, Pakistan is doing unsurpassed efforts to support Kashmir.

Every Pakistani, in Pakistan or abroad, is raising his voice for Kashmir and is of the hope that Kashmiris will be treated justly because after every rainfall must come a rainbow.
