All zoos, wildlife parks in Punjab closed for 3 weeks

LAHORE: The Punjab Wildlife and Parks Department on Saturday notified that all zoos and wildlife parks across the Punjab province will remain closed for general public till April 5 in the wake of coronavirus outbreak.

However, zoo staffers will remain on duty as per the normal routine, said the notification.

Wildlife Director General Muhammad Naeem Bhatti issued the notification. According to the notification: “Entry of visitors in all zoos and wildlife parks existing in Punjab under the control of Punjab Wildlife and Parks Department is hereby closed with immediate effect for a period of three weeks, as a precautionary measure against the spread of coronavirus.

“However, routine functioning of the zoos and wildlife parks shall remain continued after adopting all precautionary measures against the coronavirus,” the notification reads.
