ANF seizes 286.739kg narcotics valuing Rs386.997 million

ISLAMABAD: Anti Narcotics Force Pakistan has seized 286.739 Kg narcotics valuing Rs386.997 million internationally, arrested 28 persons including an Afghani national and a Nigerian lady involved in drug smuggling. According to a press release, the cases have been registered at respective ANF police stations under CNS Act 1997 and further investigations are underway. ANF has impounded nine vehicles in 28 counter narcotics strikes conducted across the country.

The seized drugs comprised 269.74 Kg Hashish, 3.219 Kg Heroin, 2.65 Kg Amphetamine and 3.13 Kg Methamphetamine. According to details,  ANF Quetta intercepted a Toyota Prado (un-registered) in mountainous Area Koh-e- Mard, Pasni Turbot Road, Kech after heavy exchange of fire and seized 25 Kg Hashish. In another operation, ANF Quetta conducted information based raid at deserted hut in general area of District Gawadar and recovered 55 Kg Hashish. The drugs were intended to be handed over to another narcotics gang.

Likewise, ANF Rawalpindi in collaboration with ASF arrested an accused identified as Umar Gul, a resident of Swabi at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad and recovered 1.225 Kg Amphetamine from his travelling bag. He was to take off for Saudi Arabia by Saudi Airlines flight No. SV-888.

Yet in another operation, ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Motorcycle at Kohat Road, near Railway Phattak, Jhand and recovered 1.05 Kg Hashish from Siddique Akbar resident of Attock.

In third operation, ANF Rawalpindi stopped a Honda motorcycle from an Educational Institution, Attock and recovered 2 Kg Hashish from personal possession of Noor Muhammad and Habib Ur Rehman both residents of Attock.

In fourth operation, ANF Rawalpindi Intercepted a Motorcycle near Alnoor Hospital, Fateh Jhang Attock Road, Attock and recovered 1.8 Kg Hashish from Zahid Iqbal resident of Nowshehra. In fifth operation, ANF Rawalpindi recovered 1.2 Kg Hashish from personal possession of Muhammad Iqbal and Abid Ali, both resident of Attock & Dilawar, a resident of Rawalpindi. In sixth operation, ANF Rawalpindi arrested Amir Khan resident of Swabi at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad and recovered 1.425 Kg Amphetamine from his travelling bag. The accused intended to flay for Saudi Arabia.

Likewise, ANF Lahore intercepted a Toyota Corolla car at Kot Abdul Malik Interchange, Sheikhupura and recovered 16.8 Kg Hashish & 7.2 Kg Opium. A person onboard namely Saeed Iqbal, a resident of Peshawar was also arrested.  In another operation, ANF Lahore intercepted a Honda City Car near Sambrial, Dry Port, Sialkot and recovered 1.2 Kg Hashish from personal possession of Muhammad Rafiq, the resident of Lahore who was present in the vehicle.  Yet in another operation, ANF Lahore arrested Nigerian National Lady Maryhope Oluchukwu from Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore and recovered 390 Grams Heroin concealed in a book placed in her luggage.
