ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa reached London on Thursday for an official visit to the United Kingdom, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

According to the military’s media wing, the army chief will hold talks with senior civil and military leadership in the country.

“Gen Qamar will discuss matters of mutual interest including evolving geo-strategic environment, defence and security,” the ISPR statement read.

The army chief last visited the country in October 2018 where he reiterated that Pakistan was ready to take its bilateral relationship with the United Kingdom to the “next level”.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi is already in the UK. On Wednesday he met British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt as part of the 4th review of Pakistan-UK Enhanced Strategic Dialogue.
