Arshad Aziz re-elected as president of PPC

PESHAWAR: With the country gaining the electioneering for the General Elections to be held on February 8, 20204, the journalists of Peshawar casted their votes on Saturday to elect the officer bearers of the Peshawar Press Club.

The Unity Democratic Panel led by senior journalists Riaz Khan and Arshad Aziz Malik won a clear victory as Senior journalist Arshad Aziz Malik was re-elected as President of PPC after getting 402 votes while his closest opponent Arif Hayat managed only 57 votes.

Similarly, Irfan Mussazi was re-elected as general secretary by getting 372 votes while his opponent Bilal Ahmed managed to get 82 votes.

Tayab Usman was elected as Vice-President after being voted by 360 journalists, Gul Rehman Haqqani (381 votes) and Rizwan Sheikh (341 votes) were elected as Joint Secretary and Finance Secretary Respectively.

On the election day, large number of journalists from Peshawar participated and elected a new cabinet of PPC.

Meanwhile, for the Government Body of the PPC Cabinet Shahid Afridi, Ihtisham Bashir, Irshad Ali, Muhammad Riaz, Ameer Muawiya, Shehzad Ahmed, Imran Ayaz, Imran Yousafzai, Qaleem Qureshi, and Abid Khan were elected.
