Avenfield case: Nawaz seeks identity of Panama JIT staffers

ISLAMABAD: Quaid of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has said that Wajid Zia will have to reveal the identities of the joint investigation team (JIT) staff as it is now clear that 30 to 40 people prepared the report of JIT.

Nawaz said this while talking to media persons on Thursday outside the accountability court to appear in the court and face the corruption cases.

Nawaz Sharif was disqualified by the Supreme Court in the Panama Papers case last year after the findings of JIT reports that he had Iqama and the bases on it; the court disqualified him and ordered to file corruption case against him and his family.

Former premier questioned who approved the recruitment of the JIT support staff and adding that now the facts are coming out after the wrong decision.

Regarding the corruption cases against him, Nawaz said that he has high hopes of getting justice from the court.
