Babar Azam drops one spot in ICC Test rankings

LAHORE: Former skipper Babar Azam dropped one place in latest Test batting rankings issued by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday.

Babar Azam and Daryl Mitchell dropped to fourth and fifth place, respectively, as England’s Joe Root jumped two places to secure No. 3 position.

New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson stands at the top spot with 893 points followed by Australian batter Steve Smith with 818 points.

In rankings for Test bowlers, Jasprit Bumrah retained the top spot with 867 points. Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi improved his rankings by one place to jump to 12th spot.
