Bilour urges courts to take notice of Yakkatoot tragedy

PESHAWAR: Central Vice President ANP Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour has criticized the government for slow pace of investigations into the Yakkatoot tragedy that killed 23 people including Haroon Bilour during the election campaign in July 2018.

Addressing oath taking ceremony of newly elected ANP City District cabinet, the veteran politician complained that over eight months have been passed of the incident while there was no progress in the case neither anyone approached us to this effect nor any investigation was underway.

He maintained that 23 innocent people were killed with Haroon Bilour in an election valley in interior city of Peshawar but there was total silence over the bomb blast at the highest government level.

He demanded of the courts to take suo-moto notice on the Yakkatoot bombing to reopen the case so that heirs of martyrs were provided justice.
