Chief Secretary inaugurates annual RMI Media Cricket League

PESHAWAR: Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, formally inaugurated the annual Rehman Medical Institute (RMI) Media Cricket League at the Army Stadium in Peshawar.

Chief Operating Officer RMI, Col (rtd) Muhammad Tariq Khan, and Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry were the chief guests on the occasion. Caretaker Minister for Information, Feroz Jamal Shah Kakakhel, also attended the ceremony and served as the umpire in a friendly match in which Chief Secretary-11 defeated Peshawar Press Club-11 by 47 runs.

The RMI is arranging the league as part of its corporate social responsibility to provide journalists with an opportunity to take a break from their tough job and participate in healthy activities like cricket.

Addressing the ceremony, Col. (rtd) Muhammad Tariq Khan, Chief Operating Officer RMI, said that the RMI has been arranging this annual sports event for the last seven years as part of RMI’s commitment to the well-being of journalists. He highlighted the challenging environment in which journalists perform their duties and stated that the event will have a very positive impact on the overall health and well-being of journalists.

The inaugural ceremony featured a thrilling match between Peshawar Press Club-11 and Chief Secretary-11. Eight administrative secretaries of the province, led by the Chief Secretary, participated in the match.

Talking to the media, the Chief Secretary and caretaker minister for information appreciated the RMI for regularly organizing the Cricket League for journalists. They lauded RMI for its efforts in organising the league and extended their heartfelt congratulations to RMI’s management for arranging the league for the past seven years.

The RMI Media Cricket League is poised to become a landmark event, promoting unity and camaraderie among journalists while simultaneously celebrating their hard work and dedication. This endeavor further underscores RMI’s ongoing commitment to fostering a healthy and vibrant media community.
