CM inaugurates E-FIR, E-Roznamcha, digitization of HRM system

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan Thursday formally inaugurated E-FIR, E-Roznamcha and Digitization of Human Resource Management System of Police Department at Central Police Office Peshawar and termed this initiative as another valuable step of provincial government towards E-Governance under vision of digital Pakistan.

While talking to media and chairing a meeting regarding performance and initiatives of police department during his visit to Central Police Office Peshawar, he said that the initiative has been introduced for the facilitation of general public under which people can register and get FIR and Roznamcha through online portal, WhatsApp, E-mail along with option of printed copy.

The Chief Minister appreciated the overall performance of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police and hoped that the police department will continue its efforts towards digitization of services.

Chief Minister particularly directed for further improvement of policing in the newly merged tribal districts and assured that provincial government will provide all out support in this regard.

IG Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Sanaullah Abassi, Principal Secretary to CM Shahab Ali Shah and other high ranked police officers were also present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister was briefed in detail regarding the overall security situation of the province, initiatives and progress of Police Department in light of provincial government priorities and other developmental projects of the Police Department.

The meeting was also briefed on various sections of police department, challenges, policing in newly merged tribal districts and CPEC security.

Chief Minister was informed that total number of police is 109,556 out of which 70,372 is regular police, 2,500 special security unit, 9,700 special police force, 9,978 levies & 16,997 Khassadar force from newly merged tribal districts. The meeting was informed that in the year 2019, police has recovered 21,833 kg of hashish, 1022 kg of heroin, 836 kg opium & 114 kg of ice. The meeting was further told that in January 2020, 2310 police offenders were also arrested.

Similarly, a total of 70 cases were registered against land grabbers in which 252 persons were charged and 236 accused were arrested. In January 2020, a total of 251 cases were registered in operations against Ice drug, in which 292 people were charged and arrested.

The meeting was informed that in the year 2019, police department received total 5172 complaints from across the province out of which 4500 complaints have been resolved while 672 complaints are under process. So far, 3245 police personnel have been punished in various cases of accountability in the police department. It was told that levies & Khassadar of NMDs has been absorbed in police while 9681 special police officers were also regularized while dispute resolution councils have been fully activated in NMDs. Under Human Resource Management System, data of 76278 police personnel has been fully digitized.

Mahmood Khan directed that special focus should be given to further improve policing in NMDs which will help in promoting peace and will eliminate crime in tribal districts.
