Coronavirus claims 26 more lives in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan reported 1,615 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours (Sunday), the latest data from the National Command and Control (NCOC) shows. T

here were 26 more causalities related to the deadly disease as death toll due to coronavirus has reached 11,683 that represents a ratio of 2.1%. According to the latest figures, 1,615 new coronavirus cases emerged in the last 24 hours after conducting 34,785 tests.

It takes the total cases tally to 546,428 that returned positive after conducting 7,966,981 total tests so far.

The number of active cases in the country has reached 33,493 with 2,092 patients in critical condition. There are 283 patients on ventilators across Pakistan. There were 1,278 more recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours as the number of total recovered cases reached 501,252 with a 91.7% recovery rate.

Punjab

Punjab, the most populous province of the country, has reported 443 new cases in last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 157,796 with 10,060 active cases. In Punjab, 11 more patients died due to coronavirus as the death toll reached 4,747. With 338 new recoveries, 142,989 patients have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far.

Sindh

The most affected province Sindh has once again recorded 812 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 247,249 with 18,589 active cases. In Sindh, 4 more patients died as the death toll reached 3,996. With 563 new recoveries, 224,664 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 261 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 67,214 with 2,923 active cases.

The province reported 9 new virus-related deaths as the death toll reached 1,906. With 187 new recoveries, 62,385 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Balochistan

Balochistan has recorded another 8 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 18,823 with 149 active cases. The province reported no new death as the death toll remained at 195. With 50 new recoveries, 18,479 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Islamabad

Islamabad has recorded 59 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 41,418 with 1,381 active cases. With no new death reported in the Federal Capital as the virus death toll reached 475.

With 123 new recoveries, the number of recovered patients is 39,562 in the federal capital so far.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir

Azad Jammu and Kashmir has recorded 31 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 9,019 with 371 active cases. With two new deaths, the death toll reached 262. There were 17 new recoveries in the AJK as 8,386 patients have recovered so far from the virus.

Gilgit-Baltistan

Gilgit-Baltistan recorded one new case during the last 24 hours, as the tally reaches 4,909 with 20 active cases. No new death reported in the province, the death toll remains at 102. There were no new recoveries reported as well as patients recovered from the deadly disease remained at 4,787.
