DAB, UNAMA to address micro loans, economic development

KABUL (BNA): The Acting Governor of Da Afghanistan Bank, Hidayatullah Badri, in a meeting with Roza Otunbayeva, the Head of United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) emphasized that access to micro loans reduces poverty levels and aids in job creation.

During the meeting, Hedayatullah Badri stated that Da Afghanistan Bank is committed to expanding financial services to all parts of the country, ensuring that citizens have easy access to affordable and high-quality financial services.

Badri mentioned that to strengthen this sector, regulations have been established considering the current conditions of the country, allowing people to easily obtain micro loans.

He reiterated that enabling access to microloans is a crucial strategy for reducing poverty and fostering job creation.

It is noteworthy that during the meeting, Roza Otunbayeva also highlighted the importance of public access to financial services and assured United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA)’s cooperation in this regard.
