Demo held against merger of BSS cadre in BCS cadre

QUETTA (PPI): BCS (Executive) Officers Action Committee staged a protest demonstration outside the office of Chief Secretary Balochistan against the merger of BSS cadre in BCS cadre.
According to detail, Additional Deputy Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, Tehsildars and Patwaris of BCS (Executive) Officers Action Committee staged a peaceful protest demonstration outside the office of Chief Secretary Balochistan against the merger of Balochistan Civil Service (Executive) into Balochistan Secretariat Services (BSS) cadre.
Representatives of BCS (Executive) Officers Action Committee, including Ayesha Zehri, Deputy Commissioner, Naseerabad, Ismail Ibrahim, Deputy Commissioner, Chaman, Tariq Mengal, Deputy Commissioner, Pishin, Abdul Jabbar Baloch, Administrator, Quetta Metropolitan Corporation, Ali Durrani, Assistant Commissioner, had a detailed meeting with Secretary, Services and General Administration Department, Balochistan, Babar Khan, apprising him of the reservations of BCS cadre officers with regard to the merger of BSS cadre with BCS cadre.
The said that merger of BSS cadre officers into BCS cadre was not only illegal but also unconstitutional, adding that report of twenty-two-member parliamentary committee had been signed only by four members, adding that signature of Chairman, twenty-two-member parliamentary committee was also missing. They said it was not known as to why a summary regarding merger of BSS into BCS cadre was moved for approval of the Chief Minister Balochistan when there existed deficiency in the report of twenty-two-member parliamentary committee constituted for recommendations with regard to the service structure of BCS and BSS cadre. They said that merger of BSS cadre into BCS (Executive) cadre was not acceptable to BCS (Executive) Officers Action Committee.
On the other hand, a peaceful protest demonstration under the aegis of Balochistan Civil Secretariat Officers Welfare Association was staged in the lawn of Balochistan Civil Secretariat, Quetta outside the office of Chief Secretary, Balochistan, demanding the authorities to issue notification as merger of BSS cadre into BCS cadre had been approved by the competent authority, that is, Chief Minister Balochistan.
Protest demonstration was addressed by Abdul Malik Kakar, President, Balochistan Civil Secretariat Officers Welfare Association, Zaheer Baloch, General Secretary, Muhammad Amin Badini, Secretary Finance, Balochistan Civil Secretariat Officers Welfare Association and others.
