Domestic products exhibition held to promote Afghan goods

HERAT (TOLOnews): The “Aalist, Afghanist” (It’s great, it’s Afghan) domestic products exhibition, with the participation of traders from eight provinces of the country, was held in Herat.

Officials said that domestic products are being displayed in 120 booths, separated into sections for men and women, for three days.

“We have craftsmen from Mazar-e-Sharif, Kandahar, Jalalabad, Farah, Herat, Kabul, and Badghis. This exhibition is open to the public,” said Farid Ahmad Naderi, the organizer of this exhibition.

Of the total 120 booths, 60 are dedicated to women entrepreneurs. Some of these women consider the lack of market for their products as one of their main challenges.

“The only goal is to showcase domestic products so that our people become aware that we have products made within the country,” said Hafiza Mahmoodi, the head of the women’s section of the exhibition.

“Previously, the markets were more open, but now, given the conditions, there is less buying and selling, and we do not blame them for it,” said Fatima Sarwari, one of the booth owners.

Other entrepreneurs also considered the reduction of domestic product exports to foreign countries as a serious challenge and said the holding of this exhibition is effective in introducing and selling Afghan goods.

“The more domestic products grow, the more the Afghan economy will grow,” said Abdulhaq Omrani, one of the booth owners.

“Afghan domestic products need support and the holding of such exhibitions, which the Islamic Emirate should provide, so that people become aware of domestic products,” said Shahnawaz Madad, another booth owner.

This exhibition is open to the public for three days, and according to officials, similar exhibitions are scheduled to be held in other provinces of the country.
