ECP rejects PTI appeal for scrutiny of PML-N, PPP funds record

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has rejected the petitions filed by a Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader and demanded detailed scrutiny of funding records submitted by PML-N and PPP, ECP rejected the petition because it was filed under a law that no more exists.

The ECP pointed out that the application were filed under the Political Parties Order (PPO) 2002 and the Political Parties Rules (PPR) 2002 but since those laws were not existed after the Elections Act 2017 and the ECP could not take action against them.

Advocate Faisal Chaudhry, lawyer of Farukh Habib of PTI, who had submitted the petitions on behalf of his client and said that ECP should take action as both the parties have submitted the details under the Political Parties Order 2002.
