ISLAMABAD: Ego Cost Price and Absolutely not carries consequences. It was observed by the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Husain while responding a media query regarding cancelation of foreign cricket team’s visit to Pakistan.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting was addressing a post cabinet meeting news conference in Islamabad on Tuesday. Fawad referred the ego based historic stance of the Prime Minister Imran Khan regarding provision of bases to the United States after troops pull out from Afghanistan. While explaining the current cancelation of two consecutive tours of Pakistan by the cricket boards of New Zeeland and England while sorting security reasons. Fawad informed the media that he along with Interior Minister Shaikh Rasheed Ahmed would brief the media regarding the matter that how fake news and hybrid war work.
Fawad said that Pakistan is considering the prospects of lawsuit against News Zeeland for compensation of losses inflicted to PCB, PTV and the country as a whole. According to Fawad, only PTV suffered Rs. 220 million loss due to cancellation of tour by the Kiwis.
Chaudhry Fawad was of the view that when you keep your heads high than you have to pay the price for it, however, Pakistan is ready to face the challenge.
While talking about electoral reforms, Information Minister said that electoral reforms process is continuing and would complete in due course of time. Fawad was of the view that overseas Pakistanis are backbone of the Country’s economy, they would not be left out from the electoral process.
He said that 7th census in the country is planned in coming months and it would be completed in 540 days. According to him, next general election would be held under new census of the country.
Fawad said that due to continuous efforts of the government polio cases are decreasing in the country and only one case has been reported during last seven months. He said that Pakistan must remained polio free for at lest three years to join the ranks of polio free countries.
