KABUL (TOLOnews): Female students above the 6th grade have once again expressed concerns about the lack of reopened schools in the country and asked the Islamic Emirate to reopen schools and universities for them as soon as possible.
The 19-year-old, who had dreamed of becoming a doctor for years, said that she was a 10th-grade student eight hundred days ago, and now, due to the continued closure of schools, she has turned to sewing.
“As I left school, all the dreams we had were destroyed, and now we don’t dream of anything at all,” said Malika, a student.
“My request to the Islamic Emirate is to give back the women’s rights because men and women have equal rights to education,” said Marwa, a student.
“We don’t like the world to be just slogans, we want them to be with the people of Afghanistan and to pay attention to the demands of the government of the Islamic Emirate today so that the doors that are closed to women today will be opened,” said Tafseer Siyahposh, a women’s rights activist.
But the Islamic Emirate said it will provide education and work for women.
“Nobody denies the education and work rights of females, but we need time and capacity building and opportunities,” said Zabiullah Mujahid, spokesman of the Islamic Emirate.
Meanwhile, a senior United Nations official criticized the situation of girls and women, as well as their lack of right to work and go to school.
Meanwhile, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the American Embassy in Kabul emphasized the creation of educational and educational fields around the world and said that now is the opportunity to take a step towards a more educated world.
