KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Monday arrested four National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) employees and three agents over charges of corruption and facilitating the issuance of CNICs to foreign nationals, spokesman said.
“A party of FIA Anti Human Trafficking Circle Karachi conducted a raid at NADRA Mega Center, DHA Branch Karachi due to allegations of issuance of Computerized National Identity Cards to non nationals for huge sums of money as well as illegal gratification from others,” FIA said in handout issued on Monday evening
According to spokesman, FIA party arrested four NADRA officials namely Nizam Uddin, Supervisor / Approving Authority, Qaiser Khan, Sr. Executive / Data Entry Operator, Azhar Iqbal, Jr. Executive / Data Entry Operator and Sarfraz Ahmed, Sr. Executive.
“Three agents namely Salim, Raees and Qamar are also arrested”.
Recovery includes fake MNIC, freshly issued CNICs to non national, NADRA record, fake domicile, DC Local Certificate, etc. A case under forgery and corruption has been registered against the accused person, he added.
